What's the difference between Avigilon Unity and Avigilon Alta?

Avigilon Unity (formerly Avigilon Control Center / ACC) is the on-prem VMS — Windows server, local storage, the original Avigilon product. Avigilon Alta is the cloud-native VMS, acquired by Motorola in 2022 from Ava Security. Unity is the right call for air-gapped or on-prem-first deployments; Alta is the right call for multi-site cloud-first deployments.

Is Avigilon NDAA Section 889 compliant?

Avigilon's H5A and H6 camera lines are NDAA Section 889 compliant. Legacy H4 cameras are not on the compliant list. Avigilon does not publish a public per-SKU TAA attestation — federal buyers should request a TAA letter per SKU from Motorola.

Is Avigilon Alta FedRAMP authorized?

No. Avigilon Alta is not FedRAMP authorized. (Rave Alert, a separate Motorola product, is FedRAMP authorized.) Federal buyers with FedRAMP requirements should talk to HTS about deployment scoping.

Avigilon is the right call when you need an open-platform VMS, an on-prem-first deployment, an existing Avigilon investment, or a Motorola-sourced camera fleet.
