Active defense watches the backup stream for anomalies. Anomalies trigger a P1 alert; the affected backups are quarantined; the customer dashboard shows the quarantine. If the worst happens, the restore is from the last clean backup, not the last encrypted one. The audit log shows the timeline.
Microsoft 365 backup is a $4 per user per month companion service delivered through RMM / Asio / the ConnectWise portal, not through BCDR or Acronis. It covers Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams alongside the endpoint and server protection BCDR provides.
